Sick day January 21, 2008

Filed under: sick — frumteacher @ 8:28 am

After having been coughing and voice-less the entire weekend, I called the school this morning to report that I won’t be teaching today. I’m stuffing myself with symbicort and fluimucil, hoping I will be back soon. Calling in sick made me feel a bit naughty, almost as if I am skipping school, especially because I don’t have a fever. But I know that if I’d go to school today, I will be home sick for at least another week. And staying in bed, catching up on my sleep and my reading, won’t be that horrible…

  1. Mrs. Chili Says:

You don’t have MLK day off?

I think it’s very responsible of you to stay home, and I wish more people WOULD stay home when they’re sick. It would help them heal faster and keep many of US from getting sick in the first place.

  2. SuperRaizy Says:

Enjoy your day off. Hope you feel better soon!

  3. CaliforniaTeacherGuy Says:

“Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits:
    Who forgiveth all thine iniquities;
    who healeth all thy diseases…”
    (Psalm 103:2-3)

    Good healing to you, Frumteacher!

    isn’t today a national holiday??

  5. Miss A Says:

Everyone is forgetting that Frum is overseas & they don’t celebrate MLK day. . .

Don’t feel guilty about it–you need the day to get better. Make sure you get plenty of sleep and don’t do ANY school work.

Hope you feel better soon, frum! You are right in taking the day off – it saves you some misery.

Because of traveling –conferences or other things related to teaching my courses, I have gone through my professional days — all 2. Thus it does appear that I will be sick during my next research or conference trip.Hope you get well.

Mrs Chili~ I agree. I must add though that asthma is not contageous :-)

    Superraizy, CTG~ Thanks!

NCTF~ As Miss A. points out, over here we don’t observe MLK day as a national holiday

Miss A.~ Thanks, I tried not to do anything school related except for finishing writing those exams.

RCT~ Overseas indeed :-) I prefer not to explicitly reveal my location, but an ocean separates us indeed…

Edward Carson~ Welcome to my blog, and thanks for visiting! I love the title of yours

Thursday~ I made some tomato soup with croutons, which was wonderful too despite the fact that there were not matzo balls ;-)
